Level II Admissions

The IRH program is a Level II entry program. Students who complete a Level I year of study in any program, including the prerequisite Grade 12 biology or Level I university biology component, are eligible to apply. Everyone who applies must complete the IRH Supplementary Online Application.

Everyone who applies must complete the IRH Supplementary Online Application by April 30, 2024.

Offers

Offers for the BHSc (Hons) IRH Program will be sent out the first week of June 2024.

How to Apply

BHSc (Hons) IRH Program is a Level II entry program. Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for Level II admission. A combination of GPA will be assessed with an applicant’s Supplementary Online Application score. Simply meeting the academic requirements does not ensure admission to the program.

  • One full year of university undergraduate studies (from any program)
  • Applicants require the prerequisite Grade 12 biology or Level I university biology component.
    • Level I minimum 6.0 (C+) on a 12.0 scale GPA/average
  • Completion of the Supplementary Online Application will be reviewed for those applicants who satisfy the grade and course requirements
  • A resume and three (3) verifiers must be submitted with the Supplementary Online Application.  An example of a resume and three verifiers can be found here.

Indigenous applicants who wish to be considered under the Facilitated Indigenous Admissions Program (FIAP) should apply for the BHSc (Hons) IRH Program as per the usual procedure and complete a FIAP application.  

Application requirements under the FIAP: 

  • Applicants must meet the same course requirements and minimum GPA as indicated for Level II applicants  
  • Complete the BHSc (Hons) IRH Program Supplementary Online Application 
  • Complete the Facilitated Indigenous Admissions Program (FIAP): Self-Identification Application by the OUAC deadline date

If you are a Black applicant and wish to be considered under the Equitable Admissions for Black Applicants (EABA) process, apply for the BHSc (Hons) IRH Program as per the usual procedure. You will be invited to self-identify for the EABA when information regarding the Supplementary Online Application is issued.

Supplementary Online Application

The Supplementary Online Application is a required component when
applying to the program and will be considered in addition with your
grade point average.

The cost of the interview is $55 CDN (non-refundable) and must be paid in order for the applicant to receive their link to complete the interview. Applicants will be notified via email, in approximately late March/early April, when and where to submit their online payment. Check your junk/spam folders regularly.

Online Interview via Kira Talent

Once payment is received, applicants will receive a link from Kira Talent to complete their online interview. Applicants can complete the interview at anytime during the specified timeline. Deadline extensions are not granted.

To complete the interview, applicants must have a computer, webcam, microphone and internet. Tablets or mobile devices are not compatible with Kira Talent.

The IRH Program does not provide feedback to applicants on their interview performance.

Future Careers

Students in the BHSc (Hons) IRH program will develop a range of skills that are transferable to a variety of careers.

Our graduates will go on to careers in:

  • Post-graduate health-care professional training, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, audiology, speech-language pathology, medicine and/or other allied health careers that involve clinical assessment and intervention.
  • Health services support and development, such as health policy analysts and researchers, consultants, program developers and other careers affiliated with health and human resources.
