Yes, in Level III of the program, students will have the opportunity to enroll in the IRH 3EF3 Experiential-Focused Practicum course. This course will include supervised, practical experience in an employment-related field of study.
Inquiry is an education approach that is one of the foundational aspects of the BHSc (Hons) IRH program. Students become active participants in their own learning and develop a variety of transferable skills including collaboration, problem-solving, and communication.
There are three (3) core courses that students must take while they are in the program.
- IRH 2HI3 – Rehabilitation and Humanities (RH) Inquiry I
- IRH 3HI3 – Rehabilitation and Humanities (RH) Inquiry II
- IRH 4HI3 – Rehabilitation and Humanities (RH) Inquiry III

The program is a Level II entry. Students who complete a Level I year of study, from any program, including the pre-requisite Grade 12 biology or Level I university biology component, are eligible to apply.
The minimum grade point average for program entry is 6.0 (minimum average required for consideration).
You will be asked to upload a one-page resume and three (3) verifiers during the Supplementary Online Interview. See example here.
Yes, applicants must have grade 12 biology (or biology level 1 university credit.)
Unfortunately, if you missed the application deadline, you will not be considered for the program.
Unfortunately, the Supplementary Online Application submission deadline is firm, and no extensions will be given if this deadline is missed.
Students with the BHSc (Hons) IRH Program will develop a range of skills that are transferable to a variety of careers.
Our graduates will go on to careers in:
- Post-graduate health-care professional training, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, audiology, speech-language pathology, medicine and/or other allied health careers that involve clinical assessment and intervention.
- Health Services support and development, such as health policy analysts and researchers, consultants, program developers, and other career affiliated with health and human resources.

In Mosaic, the Level II application process will open April 3, 2024 and will close on April 29, 2024 at 11:59 pm.
The Supplementary Online Application process will open April 3, 2024 and will close on April 30, 2024 at 11:59 pm.
Once you pay your IRH Supplementary Online Application fee, you will receive an email from Kira Talent with the instructions for registering on the Kira platform.
Applications deadlines are firm. Under exceptional circumstances, please reach out to irhbhsc@mcmaster.ca.
Kira Talent is an online interview platform. Once payment is received, applicants will receive a link from Kira Talent to complete their online interview. Applicants can access the Kira platform and can complete the process at anytime during the specified timeline.
To complete the IRH Supplementary Online Application, applicants must have a computer, webcam, microphone and access to the internet. Tablets or mobile devices are not compatible with Kira Talent.
The cost of the application is $55.00 CDN (non-refundable) and must be paid in order for the applicant to receive their link to complete the interview. Sometimes emails can go to junk/spam folders, so we recommend that you add ‘no-reply@kiratalent.com’ as a safe sender to your email.
Applicants will also upload a one-page resume to the Kira platform that lists a minimum of three (3) experiences (work, volunteer, extracurricular, etc.) that they have done alongside a list of three (3) verifiers to corroborate experiences listed. Here is an example of the one-page resume and three (3) verifiers.
